Declare His Glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples! ~Psalm 96:3
What We Believe
The basis of what we believe is the Bible, God's perfect written Word.  We believe that it was fully inspired by God and that it was written without error. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks. Therefore, we align all of our plans with the Word of God, using the Bible as a guide for our ministry. We do not ask God to bless our plans, but rather ask God to lead us in His perfect plan for us and for the people of Sabaneta.

We believe in one true God eternally existing in three distinct persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) each of Whom is fully and equally God. Each possesses all of His divine nature and attributes, and is totally worthy of our worship and service. Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh, and lived a perfect life. We believe when Jesus died on the cross, He took every sin from every person upon Himself. His death on the cross is the only way to salvation (the forgiveness of sins), because there is nothing we can do to earn or achieve it. We believe that Christ followers will spend eternity in Heaven with God. Therefore, we strive to be a good representative of Jesus, using His life as an example of how to live, and depend on the Holy Spirit to guide us throughout each day and in each decision.

We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus is the Head. We believe that the Holy Spirit permanently lives in every believer providing assurance, strength and wisdom. He also uniquely gives each believer gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ. The purpose of the church is to make Christ known, to proclaim the Gospel, reflect who God is, to make disciples, and glorify God on earth. We believe that we (the body of Christ) are His plan to reach the lost, to serve the poor, and to radically advance the Gospel. Therefore, our primary ministry in Sabaneta is to plant a church filled with followers of Christ who love God, love others, serve Jesus, and make disciples.

Love God

Jesus taught that the greatest commandment of all is to love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. (Matt 22:37-38) We exist to love God with everything we are. We must strive to live holy, righteous, faithful, devoted lives of sacrifice. We do this through prayer, reading His Word, studying His scriptures, singing praises, and being a part of a church body. Loving God invovles a personal relationship with Him.

Love others

Jesus said that the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor the way you love yourself (Matt 22:39). Therefore, as a church, and as individuals, we will strive to treat people with kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and care. We extend grace and compassion to others, just as God has extended to us. Loving others also means pointing them to Christ.

serve jesus

Jesus taught that those who want to be great in the Kingdom of God should take upon themselves the role of servant, the position of a slave (Mark 10:43). Therefore, in an effort to do great things for Christ, we willingly surrender our lives to Him and seek to be His hands and feet in Sabaneta. We look for opportunites to share the Gospel and to serve those in need. We believe that every Christian should live for Christ, not for himself and that we should allow Christ to manifest His life through us to God’s glory.

make disciples

In Matthew 28 Jesus gave his disciples The Great Commission, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.” We believe that this is God's plan for advancing the Gospel. Therefore, as we form relationships with the people of Sabaneta and they become a follower of Christ, we will model discipleship for His new followers by walking them through the scriptures and teaching them how to proclaim the Gospel to others. God's plan for us to make disciples is then completed when the disciples that we make begin to disciple others and multiply the Gospel throughout the Dominican Republic.
