our  Call  to  Serve

The LORD has done great things for us! We are filled with joy!  ~Psalm 126:3

In 2010, we began a journey with two other couples. We committed to read together and discuss God's Word and our walk with Christ together. It was a journey filled with so much sanctification. We felt God drawing us closer and closer to Him. He had bigger plans for us. He was calling us to be missionaries. God called Jay and I separately during this study. We immediately felt the excitement and confusion that came along with this call. We shared with our friends that God was calling us to serve overseas and they celebrated with us. We didn't tell anyone else for a long time, knowing that we wanted God to work out the details. He moved us back to our hometown, which seemed so odd since it coincided with Him calling us to serve overseas. We now see His hand moving in the details. He brought us back here and to our home church to continue to grow us, to confirm His call for us to go and serve, to take us to the Dominican Republic and show us the need, and to prepare us for what is to come.
While we were in the Dominican Republic, we saw the many needs of the community of Sabaneta. They need Jesus. They need a church. We saw the need for the Gospel to be proclaimed among the people who lived there. This began the journey that we are now on.
